The impact of new manufacturing technology have been documented extensively in the papers. The maintenance function is receiving more attention in the trade journals, but limited studies have been published in the academic literature. This study considers a preventive maintenance policy on U-Line manufacturing. The line has an arrangement of different machines. If one machine in the line breaks down or is given to maintenance for the purpose of preventive maintenance the whole is down. Therefore, the challenge to production and maintenance alike is to be able to keep the maintenance schedule current while having as little effect on production as possible. In this study, we presented a maintenance policy and compared it with other research.
