This study has a purpose to verify effects of Cranio Sacral Therapy on pain and muscle tension for middle-age women. The research design was pre and post-test with a nonequivalent control group(n=10) and experimental group(n=10). The subjects 20 women aged 40~60 years divided two groups. Cranio Sacral therapy was run by 10 steps of the Upledger training (10-Step Protocol) for each 60 minutes twice a week for 4 weeks, which was total eight times. The muscle tension degree was measured by a potable 2 Channel System with EEG instruments (Brainwaves instruments). A neck and shoulder pain were measured by using a Visual Analog Scale(VAS). The result of this experiment shows Cranio Sacral Therapy has an effect to reduce (p<0.05) pain and muscle tension in the experiment group, whereas it is not statistically significant in the comparison group. In conclusion, Cranio Sacral Therapy has an effect to reduce pain and muscle tension for middle-age women. Therefore, I suggest that Cranio Sacral Therapy could be a useful alternative therapy for a treatment of pain.
