Fifty years have passed since the opening of the first formal Korean Language institute. There is a steady increase in the number of foreigners wanting to learn Korean. In order to satisfy this increasing demand, all major universities offer Korean language programs. However, these institutes have not yet developed a solid program to aid the difficulties that their students face outside of their classrooms. This study is an analysis of counseling cases of Korean learners. This article specifically aims to address this problem by analyzing and categorizing different needs expressed by students during their consultation. According to the analysis of 2,318 counseling cases of all students who have visited the Counseling Center in Yonsei KLI, 36.8% of the students were of Japanese nationality, while 30.9% were of Chinese. And "jobs and careers" was the most frequent topic of all the counseling cases. According to analysis on the teachers giving assistance in counseling centers, they mostly voiced difficulty in their inability to give the students a practical solution to their problems.
