Historically music copyright issues have always affected the music industry, because it refers to the business industry connected with the creation and circulation of music. On the other hand music copyrights have been affected by the development of technology. The purpose of this paper is to consider a correlation among music copyright, the business industry, and the development of technology. For this purpose, this paper investigates how, when, and why music first came within copyright`s protection. Also, this paper sheds light on legal disputes concerning the historical rise and development of music copyright that yield important insights into original understandings of copyright law and music`s role in society. The legal and historical issues which this paper deals with are as follows : Firstly, it provides the artistic attribute of music copyright. Secondly, it examines a historical relationship between the rise of music publishers and the development of technology. Finally, it considers the development of music copyright and the rise of neighbouring rights by technological unemployment.
