The modem society needs and concerns of Massage Therapy(sports massage, meridian massage, foots massage, limp massage), which can provide natural treatment through rest and fatigue recovery without side effects, has been increasing as rise of income level by social and economic development. However, the research for methods as complementary & alternative medicine(CAM) and general research on the actual condition are not sufficient enough. This research has been occurred to present current conditions, usages and satisfactions of the massage therapy and to find out practical applications as complementary & alternative medicine. The research has been taken effect for two months(Ang. 1.2003 ~ Sept. 30. 2003). Sampling was collected by both genders from Senul, Daegu, Suwon, and Gyungju area. The frequency analysis method has been used for the analysis and conduct of the data to figure out specific characters and the usage of massage For x2-test has occurred to make a comparative study. T-test and ANOVA has been used to analyze for comparison of satisfactions each variable. A correlation analysis has been used to make a comparative study for an entire satisfaction and factors of satisfaction. SPSS WIN10.0 program has been used for the above analysis, and the result was as follow; 1) In the characteristic of population sociology, sex distinction portion was 38.9% of male and 61.1% of female, 439 from major city and 145 under middle city. 2) In the usage type of massage, the order of massage frequency was sports, meridian, foot, limp massage etc., and the major reason to use it was in the order of fatigue recovery and relaxations and general health treatment, skin and fatness treatment. 3) The motivation of choosing a specific massage facility was in the order of technique, environment, professional service, recommendation and human relations. 4) In satisfaction analysis, the limp, spits, meridian massage was high ranked. The improvement of musculoskeletal, management of general health, psychological and mental relaxation. 5) As an analysis of correlation a positive(+) correlation has been came out, and a coefficient of correlation of relaxation was relatively higher than other factors. This research and analysis suggests to spread the Massage Therapy as an easy practical effective method for a health care from hair and neighbors. Furthermore, standard education and a qualifying examination system to give a professional license is required urgently. By doing so, it will make a contribution to people for better health and better quality of life. Also, it will make a great contribution to international competitiveness by improving life of people and developing a tourist item.
