This study aims to reveal subcultural characteristics of belly dance club. I used qualitative research methods which were appropriate for collecting intensified data on certain circumstances, and 9 participants who were members of belly dance club and agreed to participate in this study, were selected by purposeful sampling. Data on these participants were collected by in-depth interviews and participant observation, and collected data was transcribed and encoded for data analysis and classified by research participant. The results are as follows: First, belly dance club members tended to find their true self or self-confidence while practicing belly dance and participating in the performance. Second, they were confident of their activity in the club as people around them envied them and their relation with others improved because of their surrounding people and belly dance used as a medium. Third, as their participation in belly dance has long been consistent and varied, they directly experienced physical and mental health effect which could be earned from the actual experience. Fourth, when they participated in the belly dance, they could rediscover their charm as a woman because of the unique movements and costumes of belly dance.
