The purpose of this study was to find out characteristics of the structure and contents of scientific papers written by university students and to examine educational implications of them. Subjects were 22 sophomore and junior students. Scientific papers on their free topics written by them were analysed. Based on the submitted papers, it was showed that the structure was a little incomplete even if it had the system of title, introduction, material and method, result and discussion, and reference. In addition, we noticed deficiency of the definiteness in the most of statements from examination of the reasonability in the contents. We expect that our result will be useful to make up the syllabus of lectures in teaching the writing of a scientific paper for the university students in the natural science.
