The purpose of this study was to analyze biotechnology content in high school BiologyⅠandⅡ textbooks under the 7th curriculum. Biotechnology concepts were examined and conceptual structure was analyzed through concept mapping in eight kinds of high school BiologyⅠand Ⅱtextbooks. The results were as followed: First, PCR was not included in all the BiologyⅠtextbooks and seven Biology Ⅱ textbooks, and electrophoresis was not included in all the BiologyⅠtextbooks and five BiologyⅡ textbooks. Second, biotechnological terms were used inconsistently in the textbooks. Third, meaning of the concepts which were introduced newly in the biotechnology unit was not explained in the textbooks. Fourthly, the results of analyzing the biotechnology content through concept mapping showed that the relationships among various biotechnological concepts were not explained.
