중국 최초의 연애 소설 游仙窟은 단순한 외설적 작품으로 평가되어질 것이 아니라 중국 고전 소설을 통틀어 남녀 간의 성애와 성에 대한 욕망을 예술적으로 잘 승화시켜 아름답게 표현한 최초의 작품이라고 할 수 있다. 본 논문은 중국 고전 소설의 황금시기라고 할 수 있는 명청대에 우후죽순처럼 출현한 수많은 색정 소설들에 가려져 연구가 상대적으로 저조한 游仙窟을 비롯한 당대 문학 속 몇 편의 대표적인 성애 작품들에 대해 고찰하면서 중국 색정 소설의 원조라고 할 수 있는 이들 작품들의 성애 묘사의 특성에 대해 우선적으로 분석하고 그 다음으로 游仙窟 성애 묘사의 미학적 특성에 대해 중점적으로 논의하고자 한다. 그 구체적인 논의의 내용으로는 첫째, 游仙窟이 시적인 언어와 표현수법을 통해 남녀간의 성애를 매우 걸출한 시적인 경지로 표현했다는 점과 둘째, 游仙窟이 인생과 생명에 대한 깨달음과 각성을 통해 달관적인 인생관과 비극적인 정감을 아름답게 잘 표현했다는 점이다.

YouXianKu is not a nasty lustful novel. In the history of Chinese erotic novels, it is the first erotic novel that described the sex and desire between the two sexes in a very artistic and literary way. Many studies regarding the Ming Qing Dynasty erotic novels were made by researchers, but very few people paid attention to the erotic pieces of the Tang Dynasty literature. This paper examines the two different styles of sexual descriptions in the Tang Dynasty erotic literatures; therefore one is a mechanical description and the other is a romantic description. Thereafter, it focuses on the aesthetics of YouXianKu in the distinguished erotic descriptions of the two sexes.
