Backchannel is categorized as a form of minimal responses and generally defined as a signal of the expression of listenership in talk-in-interaction and can be broadly categorized into verbal and nonverbal cues. This paper draws the issue of TRP in terms of the placement of backchannel in Korean as in English. The result of the study suggests that Kim``s (1999) notion of ``the intra-turn unit boundaries`` may be termed as a ``possible TCU in Korean``, which is different from English TRP if we presuppose that each language does not have to be measured and analyzed with respect to the way of English TRP. Therefore, I would like call it as a ``possible intonational completion and syntactic completion points in Korean`` rather than ``intra-turn unit boundaries``.
