단일민족이라는 통념을 지니고 있던 한국 사회는 이주자가 증가함에 따라 인구학적 측면에서도 다문화 사회로 전환되고 있으며, 다문화 교육은 특히 이주자의 2세 문제와 관련된 중요한 사회적 이슈라고 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 새로운 ``교육소외계층``으로 떠오르고 있는 다문화 가정에서 성장하고 있는 아동·청소년들이 무용에 참여하고자 하는 열정의 정도와 내용이 어떠한지를 알아 보고자 하는 것이다. 이는 다문화 아동·청소년들이 무용 활동에 대한 개인의 반응이 얼마나 강한지 그리고 이러한 욕구가 형성된 원인과 양상이 어떠한지를 확인하기 위함이다. 다문화 가정의 여러 형태 중 본 연구에서는 국제결혼가정의 아동·청소년 11명과 그들의 부모 8명, 그리고 기관담당자 3명을 대상으로 면담을 실시하였고, 이와 함께 관련 문헌자료의 수집 및 기관조사를 통해 자료를 분석하였다. 본 연구에서는 연구 목적에 따라 첫째, 교육대상을 둘러싸고 있는 교육환경(부모, 기관)의 무용교육 요구도는 존재하는가? 둘째, 다문화 아동·청소년들의 무용요구도는 어떠한 양상을 보이는가? 라는 두 가지 연구문제를 설정하였다. 연구결과와 논의를 통해서 실제 교육대상인 다문화 아동·청소년을 둘러싸고 있는 교육환경 즉 부모와 기관담당자의 무용교육 요구도는 상당히 높게 나타났으며, 선호하는 구체적인 춤 장르로는 대중춤, 한국무용, 발레를 포함한 외국무용 등이 나타났다. 두 번째 연구문제인 무용교육의 요구도가 어떠한 양상을 보이는지 알아보기 위하여 응답내용을 분석한 결과, 15개의 개념과 7개의 하위주제, 3개의 대주제를 도출해내었으며, 연령에 맞는 신체움직임의 요구, 문화이해교류, 정서적 표출의 기회의 세 가지 양상이 나타났다. 한국의 다문화 사회에 올바르게 대처하기 위해서는 무엇보다도 학교교육과 지역사회교육이 병행되어야 한다. 특히, 한국에서의 다문화교육의 의미를 알아보고, 학교나 지역에서 다문화교육을 위한 무용교육의 역할이 무엇인지, 그 방법은 어떠한지를 살펴볼 필요가 있을 것이다. 본 연구를 통해 나타난 무용교육의 요구도를 통해 추후 다문화가정을 위한 무용교육의 방향성은 성장기 연령에 맞는 신체활동, 정서표출, 문화이해에 도움이 되는 학습내용으로 개발되어야 할 것이다.

The Korean society is demographically turning into a multicultural society due to an increased number of immigrants. Thus it could be said that the multicultural education, especially related to the children of Korean immigrants, is an important social issue. In this study, it was studying the extent and contents of enthusiasm by children from multicultural families on participating in dancing activities. The purpose of the study is to understand how strong an individual`s reaction is on dancing activities and what the cause and effect of their needs are. In this study, it was chosen eleven children/teenagers of international marriage families, eight of their parents, and three of the institution officers for interviews, and the data were analyzed through collecting related references. In this study, there were two questions to fulfill the purpose of the study as follows: 1) Is there difference in demands by education environment(parents, institution) surrounding the subjects of education? 2) What is the characteristics of the degree of demands for dancing by multicultural children? According to the result of the study and discussions about it, the demands for dance education by educational environment-parents and the institution officers-is shown to be noticeably high, and the specific genres of dance they prefer are popular dance, Korean traditional dance, and foreign dance such as ballet. As for studying the second question, fifteen concepts, seven subordinate themes and three main themes were discovered, and appeared were three aspects-needs for physical movement in one`s age, interactions between different cultures, and emotional expression. In order to cope with social issues from the multicultural society in Korea, it is important to carry out both school education and community education.
