This study investigates why English is a global language and what solutions should be implemented for current English education problems in Korea. As long as English Education remains a part of mainstream foreign language teaching, there is little chance of entering the ``outer circle`` in Crystal`s sense(2003). As an alternative, an immersion program should be implemented within the Korean context of English Education despite of some apparent concerns. (Gongju National of Education)
