This study seeks a starting point for an Adventist worship theology. It explores three theological positions on worship-those of Odo Casel, Sally Morgenthaler and Ellen G. White. Each of these three positions is theologically accountable to its own tradition. Odo Casel`s liturgical theology, with its Eucharistic focus, resonates with Roman Catholicism; Sally Morgenthaler`s correlation of worship and evangelism is representative of the concern of contemporary Evangelicalism. Therefore, this study works towards an Adventist worship theology that simultaneously gleans from and differentiates itself from theologies of Casel and Morgenthaler. It incorporates methodological features of soteriological emphasis by Casel and cultural awareness by Morgenthaler, but adds White`s emphasis of reverence and awe to begin making provisions towards an Adventist worship theology with preaching and Sabbath observance as its focal points.
