본 연구는 유아의 성역할 정체감 형성을 위해 가정-유치원 상호 협력 중심 유아양성평등교육 프로그램을 개발하고, 그 교육적 효과를 평가하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 첫째, 국내외 관련 문헌 고찰과 가정 및 유치원에서 이루어지는 양성평등교육의 실태, 그리고 가정-유치원 상호 협력을 위한 기초 요구 조사 결과를 토대로 가정-유치원 상호 협력을 고려한 30개 활동으로 구성된 가정-유치원 상호 협력 중심 유아양성평등교육 프로그램을 개발하였다. 둘째, 개발된 가정-유치원 상호 협력 중심 유아양성교육 프로그램이 유아의 성역할 정체감과 부모의 성역할 태도에 미치는 효과를 검증하였다. 그 결과, 개발된 가정-유치원 상호 협력 중심 유아양성평등교육 프로그램은 유아의 전체 성역할 정체감과 하위영역인 가사, 직업, 놀이 모두에서 긍정적인 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 부모의 성역할 태도와 하위영역인 성별분업, 남녀의 권위관계, 남녀의 기회, 기타 성 고정관념 모두에서 유의미한 효과가 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 따라서 본 프로그램은 가정과 유치원이 상호 협력하여 유아와 부모의 성역할 정체감 형성을 도모할 수 있는 양성평등교육 프로그램으로서의 현장 적용 가능성이 있음을 시사하고 있다.

The goal of this research is to develop, apply and evaluate a gender equity education program in the context of a home-kindergarten partnership model focused on young children`s sex role identity. To this end, a thorough review of national and international literature on home-kindergarten partnership program models, with special emphasis on gender equity education was conducted. Home-kindergarten partnership models were chosen as the context because traditionally they are structured to develop parent involvement in school goals and activities, thereby establishing a partnership based on understanding and shared goals. Evaluation of the program developed and implemented in this study revealed positive effects on the children`s gender role identity sub-categories involving household chores, occupations and play. Evaluation of the program also revealed positive changes in parental perceptions of gender equity and subsequently, in sex role behaviors specifically concerned with the division of labor, authority, and equality in opportunities for both boys and girls, Thus, the changes in parental perceptions and behavior extended to family, school, work and social contexts.
