이 연구에서는 장애영유아의 가정에서 유아교육·보육기관으로의 전이에 대한 부모와 교사의 인식 및 경험과 지원요구를 알아보고, 성공적인 전이를 위한 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 장애영유아의 가정에서 유아교육·보육기관으로의 전이를 경험한 부모 5명과 교사 5명을 연구 참여자로 선정하여 개별면담을 실시하고, 면담결과를 연속적 비교분석법을 통해서 분석하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 부모와 교사들은 전이와 전이지원에 대해 생소해 하긴 했지만 이에 대한 필요성을 느끼고 있었다. 그리고 전이과정에서 일상생활 적응훈련, 장애에 대한 인식변화, 유아와 관련된 사람들 간의 협력이 중요하다고 생각하였다. 둘째, 체계적인 전이지원이 이루어지고 있지 않았으나, 부모와 교사들은 전이과정에서 나름대로의 전이지원을 실시하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 이러한 전이과정에서 부모와 교사들은 장애에 대한 부정적인 편견, 전이로 인한 스트레스, 기관과 정보에 대한 부족, 타 기관과의 연계, 경제적 여건, 의사소통과 관련한 어려움을 겪은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 부모와 교사들은 원활한 전이를 도울 수 있는 다양한 전이지원 프로그램 개발이 필요하며, 인력지원, 경제적 지원, 관련연수의 제공, 법적 기초 등이 마련되어야 한다고 언급하였다. 이상의 연구결과를 중심으로, 성공적인 전이를 위한 방안이 논의되었다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate perception, experiences, and support needs of parents and teachers of young children with disabilities for transition from home to early childhood centers. For the purpose, individual interviews with 5 parents and 5 teachers were conducted, and the collected data from the interview was analyzed by constant comparative method. In the results, first, although the parents and teachers in the study were unfamiliar with transition, they felt the need for transition support. Also, they thought that the prerequisites for successful transition would be daily living training, change of attitude toward people with disabilities, and collaboration among human resources. Secondly, although systematic transition support was not provided, the parents and teachers provided their own transition efforts during pre- and post- transition period. In addition, the parents and teachers in the study had difficulties due to prejudice against people with disabilities, transition-related stress, a lack of institutions and information, poor collaboration with other institutions, financial conditions, and inefficient communication. Lastly, the parents and teachers found it necessary to be provided with transition support. Based on these results, suggestions for effective transition support were discussed.
