본 연구의 목적은 학년별·성별에 따른 초등학생의 학업성취도와 진로발달 간 관계를 비교하는 것이다, 본 연구의 대상은 초등학생 231명(5학년 남학생 67명, 여학생 57명과 6학년 남학생 60명, 여학생 47명)이다. 본 연구에서 활용한 측정도구는 이종범(2005)의 초등학생 진로발달 검사도구이다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 12.0 Program을 활용하여, t 검증, Pearson의 적률상관, 단계적 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. (1) 학업성취도는 여학생이 남학생보다 높았다. (2) 진로발달은 여학생이 남학생보다 높았다. (3) 학업성취도와 진로발달의 상관계수는 6학년과 여학생이 5학년과 남학생보다 높았다. (4) 학업성취도가 진로발달에 미치는 영향력은 6학년과 여학생이 5학년과 남학생보다 높았다. (5) 5학년의 사회교과, 6학년의 영어교과, 남학생의 과학교과, 여학생의 도덕, 실과교과가 진로발달에 많은 영향을 미쳤다. (6) 초등학생의 학업성취도는 진로발달과 정적상관관계를 나타났다. (7) 초등학생의 학업성취도는 진로발달에 영향을 미쳤다.

The purpose of this study was a comparative of the relationship between the academic achievement and career development for elementary schoolers by school year and gender. The subjects of this study were 231 elementary schoolers. The instrument usedin study was Lee Jong-Bun`s(2005) Career Development Inventory for Elementary School Students. The collected data were analyzed with a SPSS 12.0 program. The survey used in this study and data were analyzed by mean of a t-test, Pearson`s correlation and stepwise multiple regression. The major findings of the study were as follows: (1) the mean score of girl was higher than boy in academic achievement. (2) the mean score of girl was higher than boy in career development. (3) the score of 6 year and girl was higher than 5 year and boy in relationship between the academic achievement and career development. (4) the score of 6 year and girl was higher than 5 year and boy in influence of the academic achievement on the career development. (5) the 5 year`s Society and 6 year`s English and boy`s Science and girl`s Morality, Practical Arts had an influence on the career development. (6) the revealed academic achievement of the elementary schoolers was correlated with career development. (7) the academic achievement of the elementary schoolers had an influence on the career development.
