조선 중기 명문 가문에서 서자의 자손으로 태어난 김도수는 젊은 나이에 요절하여 문학계에서는 거의 알려지지 않은 인물이다. 그러나 당시 유명한 사대부 문인 및 중인 계층, 같은 서얼 계층의 문인들과 교유하면서 시적 능력을 인정받았고, 말단이지만 관직에 진출하기도 하였다. 당시 사회제도에서 서얼이라는 신분상의 제약으로 관직생활은 짧을 수밖에 없었고, 그는 춘천으로의 유거를 선택하였다. 春洲라는 호를 사용할 정도로 그의 길지 않은 생애에서 춘천이 차지하는 비중은 결코 작다고 할 수 없다. 본고에서는 그가 춘천에 유거하게 된 배경과 그 속에서 지은 한시의 성격을 살펴보았다. 춘천은 청평산을 끼고 있어 예로부터 은일의 고장으로 명성이 났으며, 실제로 이자현, 김수증을 비롯하여 여러 인물들이 은거생활을 하였다. 또한 퇴계와 다산 등 조선시대 수많은 시인들이 이곳에 들려 그들의 생활을 긍정적으로 평가하며 맥을 같이 하는 시를 짓기도 하였다. 그러나 김도수의 춘천 유거는 일반적인 은거와는 성격이 다르다. 그는 자신이 원하여 은거한 것이 아니라 서얼 출신이라는 신분적인 제약 때문에 어쩔 수 없이 은거를 선택한 것이다. 그러므로 그가 춘천에서 지은 시문에는 현실지향적인 의식이 매우 강하게 투영되어 있다. 춘천에 유거하면서 느끼는 한가로움을 읊기도 한 반면에 관직에 진출하고 싶은 자신의 욕망을 그대로 표출하였다. 또한 홀로 외로이 지내는 자신의 신세를 한탄하며 벗에 대한 그리움을 시로 형상화 하였으며, 옛날 서울에서의 생활을 떠올리며 향수에 젖기도 하였다. 또한 자신의 희망대로 되지 않는 현실 속에서 그는 자연물을 통해 자신의 고고함을 상징적으로 드러내기도 하였고, 인재를 알아보지 못하는 위정자들의 무능력과 안일함을 비판하기도 하였다.
Kim Do-Su that born as child of a concubine of middle distinguished family pedigree`s sons and gransons is convulsed with laughter at young age and is person who it is hardly known in literary world. At that time, government office life could not but be short on restriction of social position which is child born of a concubine in social system, and he chose hermitage of Chunchon. He can never speak that weight that Chunchon occupies in life that is not long enough to use number named Chunju is small. This report examined background that he is lived in retirement in Chunchon and thereinto personality of Chinese poem. Chunchon contains Cheongpyeongsan and fame acknowledged from ancient times breakdown of retirement from the world, Actually, several persons retired from the world including Lee ja-hyun and kim su-jeung. Also, Chosyn Period great many poets such as Teogye and Dasan wrote poetry that evaluate their life positively. But, personality is different with retirement that Chunchon retirement of Gimdosu is general. Because of restriction that he is Restriction of social position of child born of a concubine origin not that live in retirement because oneself wants, is obliged to choose retirement. Therefore, consciousness which he is the actuality intention that poeticize in Chunchon was projected very strongly. While recite that is leisured that feel living in retirement in Chunchon, but expressed as it is own desire which want to advance to government office. Also, lament solitarily passed own moral indebtedness and expressed by poem to yearning about friend and in ancient times, thought life in Seoul and wet in enjoyment. Also, he showed own personality through natural object symbolically in real that do not become in accordance with own hope and criticized politician`s lack of ability that do not recognize competent person and that is idle.
