This study is intended as a contrastive study of phonotactic probability in Korean and Portuguese. There have been studies about phonotactic constraints in Korean and Portuguese, but the contrastive study for the phonemic combination was not been studied in Korean and Portuguese. This study investigates the similarity and difference of the phonemic combination in modern Korean and modern european Portuguese. The phonotactic probability was analyzed with "Consonant-Consonant", "Consonant-Vowel", "Consonant-Glide", "Vowel-Consonant", "Vowel-Vowel", "Vowel-Glide". As a result, VC and CV combination occur most frequently in Korean and Portuguese. It is shown that most of the phonotactic probability are CV and VC in Korean and Portuguese. But CC and VV combinations are not preferred combination in Korean and Portuguese. There is restriction on the same manner features of articulations. These results can be helpful for language education and second language learning.
