나는 이 논문에서 현대의 인류가 맞닥뜨리고 있는 최대의 위기인 기후변화에 대한 한국에서의 대응방식으로서 <녹색 성장>을 생명학적 관점 아래 살펴본다. 이념으로서의 녹색성장에 초점을 맞추어 입안자들이 제시하는 이념과 목표가 안고 있는 문제점들을 지적하고 그것을 극복할 수 있는 이념적 대안을 찾으려 시도한다. 녹색성장의 지평을 확대하여 거기에 맞갖은 이론을 모색해야 한다고 제안한다. ``녹색``과 ``성장``이 더 큰 영역에서 만나게 되는 곳을 ``생명``, 즉 ``지구생명`` 또는 ``우주생명``으로 보고, 녹색성장이 제시하는 패러다임은 ``생명의 패러다임``이어야 옳다고 주장한다. 그리하여 이 패러다임에 맞는 이론적 토대를 마련해야 하는데, 그것이 곧 ``생명학``이라고 제시한다. 지구생명의 차원에서 지구 살림살이를 걱정하는 생명경제는 지구에서 인간을 비롯한 모든 생명체들이 더불어 함께 조화롭게 서로 살리며 살아가기 위해서 발달된 인간의 모든 능력을 다 활용해야 한다. 생명성장으로서의 녹색성장은 기술과 과학의 발달을 활용한 경제적 성장에서 한 걸음 더 나아가 정치의 발전과 그에 따른 윤리·도덕적 성장도 고려하여 그에 맞는 생명의 정치[생태민주주의]와 생명의 윤리를 추구해야 한다.
This paper examines , Korea`s response towards climate change which is the biggest crisis the modern world is facing, with the view of life studies. It attempts to point out the problems that follow the ideologies and goals that policy makers suggest focusing on green growth as an ideology, and seek ideological alternatives that can overcome that. In this paper, it is proposed to expand the horizon of green growth to seek a satisfactory theory. This paper takes the view that the bigger realm where ``green`` and ``growth`` meet is ``life``, in other words, ``life of the Earth`` or ``life of the Universe,`` and asserts that the paradigm that green growth suggests should be a ``paradigm of life.`` Finally, it proposes the establishment of a theoretical foundation that fits this paradigm, which is no other than ``life studies`` or ``life culture``. The economy of life, which shows concern about Earth`s well-being on the level of the life of the Earth, must utilize all human capabilities that are developed in order for all living things on Earth including human can live in harmony, bringing each other to life. Green growth as growth of life must take one step further from economic growth that utilizes the development of technology and science, consider the growth of politics and ethical and moral growth that follows it, and finally pursue a politics [ecological democracy] and ethics of life that is in line with green growth.
