이 논문은 王世貞에 대한 金昌協과 錢謙益의 시각을 비교 고찰하였다. 두 사람은 ``擬古派``를 대타적으로 의식하며 明朝와 朝鮮에서 자기 문학의 새로운 입론을 정립해갔다는 점에서 그 문학사적 위치가 유사한 점이 없지 않다. 그럼에도 불구하고 일견 비슷할 것만 같은 두 사람의 왕세정에 대한 이해는 적잖은 차이가 있다. 김창협이 ``秦漢 古文``의 ``字句를 모의``하는 ``似而非 문인``으로 ``왕세정``과 여타의 의고파 문인들을 동일시하고 있다면, 전겸익은 의고파 비판에 몰두했던 청·장년기에는 왕세정을 신랄히 비판하다가 말년에 와서 ``감州晩年定論``을 제기하며 여타의 의고파 문인들과 왕세정을 구분하며 그를 옹호하고 있기 때문이다. 김창협은 『列朝詩集小傳』과 『有學集』을 통해 왕세정에 대한 전겸익의 새로운 인식들을 접했지만, 修辭的 장치를 통해 이 사실을 약화시키거나 무시하면서 시종일관 왕세정을 ``의고파``의 범주 속에 가둠으로써 조선문단에서의 왕세정의 영향력을 차단하고자 하였다. 전겸익의 ``감州晩年定論``은 蘇軾등 唐宋古文에도 관심과 주의를 기울였던 왕세정의 본래적 면모를 새롭게 환기시켰다는 점에서 그 의의가 적지 않지만, 『藝苑치言』 속에 이미 ``편협한 復古``를 탈피하고, ``模擬``를 비판하는 진술들이 보인다는 점에서, 왕세정의 진실을 사실 그대로 포착한 것은 아니었다. 본고는 왕세정에 대한 두 大家의 진술을, 그들이 언급하고 있는 구체적 자료를 통해 검증함으로써 그들의 왕세정에 대한 견해가 자신의 입장에 따라 변화하거나 실상과 달리 부정적으로 재구성된 것임을 밝혔다. 大家들의 권위에 의존하기 보다는 실제적 텍스트에 근거하여 한 작가를 이해하는 보다 객관적이고도 실증적인 연구가 진행되기를 희망한다.

This article is to research viewpoint of Kim Changhyup 金昌協 and Qian Qianyi 錢謙益 about Wang Shizhen 王世貞. Both of them established a new literary views against Wang Shizhen group in Chosun and Ming dynasty in the 17th. Nevertheless, two author`s understanding about Wang Shizhen is not resemble but considerably different. Kim Changhyup underestimated Wang Shizhen as a pseudo writer in equating Wang Shizhen with his colleagues. On the other hand, Qian Qianyi harshly criticized Wang Shizhen in the early years but he firmly supported Wang Shizhen afterwards. Because he was thought that Wang shizhen was an author who is totally different from his co-writers, and in the late years, Qian Qianyi proposed An established opinion of Yanzhou`s later years 감州晩年定論. Kim Changhyup knew this fact from reading The biographies in Liechao shiji 『列朝詩集小傳』 and Youxueji 『有學集』 written by Qian Qianyi, but he undermined and passed over this compliment to Wang shizhen`s work, for blocking out Wang`s influence in Chosun literary circles. To tell the truth, An established opinion of Yanzhou`s later years 감州晩年定論 of Qian Qianyi also was not fully understand the substance of Wang`s literature. It was only Qian Qianyi represented his own views about Wang shizhen`s literature. He maintained his opinion that Wang shizhen`s literature in the early and later years was different considerly. But according to the research of this article, it is not truth. By comparing the viewpoint of two masters with the works of Wang`s, This article showed that their opinion did not gives the facts correctly, besides Qian Qianyi had changed his own statement about Wang Shizhen. So I hope to pursuing an study about Wang Shizhen not based on the critical statement of his literary opponent but based on his own original text.
