2008년 새로운 정부와 정책이 들어서면서 지향하는 새로운 교육비전과 교육과정으로 인하여 학교교과의 지위가 재검토되고 있다. 체육교과는 이전의 수사와 논리를 재정비해보아야 할 시점에 놓여 있다. 체육교육의 최고공헌으로서 그동안 주장해온 전인교육의 관점에서 재검토가 필요하며, 특히, 정의적 영역에서의 역할과 공헌에 대한 이론적 논리와 현실적으로 실현가능한 프로그램이 요청된다. 이에 이 시점에서 체육에서 진행되는 정의적 영역의 교육을 통합적 관점에서 재조명해보려고 한다. 이 목적을 위하여 체육교과에서 그동안 정의적 영역이 어떻게 이해되어왔는지 간단히 살펴본다. 체육에서의 정의적 영역을 인성과 덕성의 범주로 재규정하고 이를 위한 교수 방법적 노력이 어떤 것들이 있었는지 전반적으로 검토한다. 이 노력들의 장단점을 알아보고 체육에서의 정의적 교육을 위해서는 통합적 접근이 필요함을 주장하며, 통합적 접근의 개념적 특징을 알아본다. 체육 분야에서 통합적 접근을 배경으로 개발된 하나로 수업모형의 주요 특징을 살펴보고, 그것이 정의적 영역을 어떻게 함양시킬 수 있는가를 살펴보기 위해 그동안의 연구결과를 세밀히 검토해본다. 이 같은 탐색을 바탕으로 체육교육에서 정의적 영역의 교육이 효과적으로 실천되기 위해서 가장 시급한 세 가지 점을 제시한다.

Physical education teachers have argued that many things can be achieved in school physical education. The representative argument is that physical education can contribute the education of whole person who are harmonious in mind, body and soul. However not many people approve the argument. The claim for whole person through physical education has become a hurricane in a tea cup. Recent policy developments in education support the importance of affective domain. It is time for physical educators to seek a clear understanding the influence of school physical education on the affective dimension. In this study, the definitions of affective domain are analyzed and their meaning in physical education are identified. The affective in physical education is redefined as the domain of morality and humanity. Different types of pedagogical methods for developing morality and humanity in school physical education so far are identified and categorized into four. The merits and pitfalls of methods in each category are scrutinized, and through the analysis the need of an integrative approach to the teaching of affective domain is argued. The characteristics of integrative approach are outlined. The idea of Hanaro Teaching model is introduced as an example. A review for the affective development through the application of Hanaro Teaching in middle and elementary schools is provided. Some suggestions for the tasks needed to be resolved are provided.
