This paper studies the Intertextuality between Arabic novels`『Bab `al-Safinah』and 『`Awlad Haratina』` and the Quran. These two notable Arabic novels were selected for their frequent quoting of verses from the Quran and reference to the people in the Quran. The former novel 『Door of the Ship』was written by Sa`ad al-Qirsh, and the latter『Our Neighborhood Kids』by Najib MaHfuz. This study applies intertextuality theory, one of the modern literature critical theories, through the adoption of research methodology. This paper studies the text of the Quran revealed to the Prophet Muhammad in 610 AD. Since then, the Quran has influenced all areas of the Arab and Islamic world and influence, especially in the novels of Arabic literature, notably Sa`ad al-Qirsh`s『Door of the ship (□□□□)』and Najib MaHfuz`s 『Our Neighborhood Kids』, both from Egypt. As a result, this researcher concluded that when Arab writers quote verses from the Quran in the modern Arabic novel, Quranic text is changed when expressing criticism, humor, sarcasm, and ridicule by using indirect periphrastic expressions, rather than quote the Quran directly, In contrast, writing through intertextuality between the Quran and Arabic literarature that gives enjoyment to the Islamic reader·receiver who lives with the Quran in daily life is found in the style of the writer.
