This article is designed to provide theological and historical sources to discuss Reformed Life Theology in Korean context. In this paper, four main arguments are discussed. First, the writer pointed out that scholastic influence was prominent in the protestant theology since the sixteenth century which advocated a more Aristotelian speculative understanding of theology. One result of this revived scholarsticism was that theology was conceived as a ``scientia divina,`` mere doctrine of beliefs, which caused theological scholasticism. Secondly, in reaction to this kind of protestant scholarsticism, the writer traced a different theological stream based on the influence of John Calvin, Bucer and puritan traditions that stressed theology as teaching for life or practica, non speculativa. Thirdly, on the basis of this western theological heritage, the writer examined understanding of theology in the Korean Reformed theology, especially concerned with how theological discipline was understood by Drs. Hyung Nyung Park and Yun Sun Park. Fourthly, the writer emphasized the importance of the forming of a Reformed Life Theology in Korean context, and this is the task to pursue and develop by the Korean Reformed theologians.
