The Gungukchongmok-the General Directory on the Military and Administrative Affairs, literally-was published in the respective cities and provinces during the 18th year of King Jeong-jo (1794 AD) by synthesizing general knowledge on the military and administrative affairs. Currently, only those from Suwon, Ganghwa, Gaeseong, part of Gyeongsang/Jeolla, and Chungcheong Province survive. It lists a systematic knowledge on the ordnance, finance and taxation during the later half of the 18th century; it highlights available net sums of both harvest and martial human resource. The publication of Gungukchongmok reflects not only the national ideale for the accordance of both martial and agricultural resource, but also changed real economy of that era. Financial units boasts as many military organizations at each level which execute their own finance and also lists counties and prefectures that supports those organizations. In detail, it principally demonstrates net sums of harvest/human resource, which is accompanied by and attributed to the household and land sensus.
