본 연구는 초등 예비교사들의 수업행동 개선 기법으로 마이크로티칭의 이론적 배경과 마이크로티칭에 대한 초등 예비교사들의 인식과 마이크로티칭 경험에 대한 자기평가를 탐구하는데 목적이 있다. 마이크로티칭은 실제 수업을 시간과 내용, 교실 크기, 학생 수, 수업기법 등 여러 측면에서 압축한 일종의 모의 수업으로, 행동주의에 기반을 둔 능력중심 교사교육 방안으로 도입되었으나, 반성적 실천을 강조하는 구성주의 교사교육에도 적용할 수 있다. 마이크로티칭을 통한 수업행동 분석은 수업계획, 수업실행, 피드백과 평가, 재 수업의 절차로 이루어진다. 마이크로티칭이 교사교육에 미치는 시사점에도 불구하고, 초등 예비교사들은 마이크로티칭에 대한 인지도와 수업 경험이 상대적으로 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 마이크로티칭에 대한 정보를 주로 임용학원을 통해 입수하고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 학교교육에서 마이크로티칭이 가장 필요한 영역이 교과지도라고 응답하였다. 마이크로티칭 경험에 대한 자기평가 결과, 초등 예비교사들은 마이크로티칭이 수업행동을 반성하고 개선하는데 매우 효과적인 것으로 기술하였으나, 수업의 본질적인 측면에 대한 반성은 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 반성적 교사교육과 교사교육의 과학화를 위해 초등 예비교사교육 과정에서 마이크로티칭에 대한 보다 체계적인 지도와 실습 경험이 필요한 것으로 판단된다.

This study aims to investigate the theoretical background and procedure of microteaching, and survey the elementary pre-service students` cognition and self-evaluation on microteaching. Microteaching is a kind of scaled-down simulated instruction in various ways-instructional time, content, class size, instructional techniques, number of students. It was introduced as a method of CBTE(competence-based teacher education). The procedure of microteaching is composed of instructional planning, instruction, feedback and evaluation, re-instruction. It is revealed that the elementary pre-service students` cognition and experience on microteaching is relatively low in relation to the need. They receive information on microteaching mainly via teacher employment institute in stead of pre-service education. They respond highly to subject matter instruction as the most needed area of schooling. As the results of self-evaluation, the students who experienced microteaching described highly positive attitude on microteaching. For the scientific teacher education, it is needed to reinforce the systematic guidance and practical experience on microteaching in the process of elementary pre-service education.
