본 연구의 목적은 가정과교육의 목표체계 및 내용에 입각한 효 윤리체계에 대한 이론적 탐색과, 가정교과를 통한 효 교육을 실현하여 교육의 이상을 실현하고자 한다. 효사상은 사회와 가정을 지키고 안정시키는 원동력이 될 수 있음에도 불구하고 오늘날 가족 구조의 변화와 서구적 가치관의 유입으로 가족의 화합과 부모에 대한 효의 개념이 점차 퇴색되고 있다. 특히 중등학교 시기의 청소년은 정서적·심리적으로 불안정한 특성 때문에 부모와 자녀관계에서 많은 어려움을 보인다. 이에 청소년기 자녀에 대한 기대와 부모의 역할이 새롭게 인식 되어야 하며, 이를 바탕으로 한 부모와 자녀의 새로운 긍정적 관계 형성이 요구된다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 중등교육 현장에서 청소년들에게 가정과교육을 통해 효 사상을 고취시키고 효의 실천을 실현시킴으로서 청소년들에게 지속적으로 효를 지도하여 바른 품성 함양의 기초인 효의 실천 인이 되게 하고, 진취적인 인간상을 정립하고자 함이다. 그러나 오늘날 효 교육의 필요성이 절실히 요구됨에도 불구하고 우리 사회는 효를 낡은 윤리 의식이나 진부한 도덕적 규범 정도로만 생각할 뿐 효를 내면화하고 실천하기 위한 효 교육을 체계화하지 못하였으며, 그 내용 또한 지극히 빈약하여 실질적인 교육적 효과를 기대하기가 어렵다. 또한 학교교육에서도 각 교과에서 일관되지 못한 지도와 지시 또는 주입식만으로 학생들의 흥미나 자발적인 참여를 유도하는데 매우 미흡한 상태이다. 더욱이 가정교육의 실종과 더불어 가정과 학교에서의 지나친 지식교육의 강조로 가정과 학교 모두 인성교육이 이루어지지 않고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 효의 중요성에 대한 인식과 관심이 증대되어 새롭게 효의 가치에 주목하고 있는 것 또한 사실이다. 이처럼 사회의 변화에 따른 인간성 회복이 절실히 요구되고 있는 상황에서 우리의 정신과 생활을 지배해왔던 전통가치인 효(孝)에 대한 가치관을 재정립하고 그 당위성을 인식하게 할 필요가 있다. 특히 청소년은 미래의 주역으로 이들에게 도덕적 의지와 올바른 가치관 확립을 위한 효(孝) 교육 실천을 위하여 가정과교육에서 앞장서 지도하여야 하는 매우 중요한 일이라고 하겠다. 가정교과에서 효를 생활화하기 위한 바람직한 방안으로 첫째, 학교와 가정, 사회가 하나로 연계되어 일관되게 학생을 지도해야 하며, 둘째, 청소년 스스로 도덕적 자아를 형성하여 도덕적 행위가 생활화될 수 있도록 준비하여야 하며, 셋째, 사실적이고 실제적이며 감동적인 효행의 모범적 사례를 통한 구체적이고 실질적인 적용방안을 수업과의 연계를 통하여 모색하여야 하며, 넷째, 효과적인 교수-학습 지도안을 작성하여 실제 교육현장에서 적용하여야 한다.

The main purpose of this study was to find out effective direction of guide and method after analyzing major content system of Hyo education through Hyo ethics system of home economics education. This study is to suggest the right ways of students, which is in middle and high school, establishing the Hyo awareness by practicing the Hyo education program based on the analysis of Home Economic Education curriculum. Hyo education was considered not only as the concept limited to family ethics to be keep at home but also as the core of all the ethics maintaining society and nation as well as home. Therefore, the value of Hyo has been constantly recognized as the most important educational ethical subject under active care of feudal dynasty for the last thousands of years. But the western material civilization swamped in this country after liberation and equality ethics which is new sense of value had collapsed and weakened traditional order and value maintained our society for last thousands of years. Therefore, we had to be suffered from various conflicts and disorders without having sufficient time to build new order and sense of values. Hyo was understood as unconditional obedience to the order of parents or unilateral sacrifice of children for their parents. Since characteristics of modern society is the horizontal culture recognizing equality ethics of democracy as universal value while that of traditional society was the vertical culture emphasizing vertical, it is necessary for Hyo education to be rebuilt to meet the new era. In conclusion, Hyo education appeared at home with focusing on the Hyo ethics system with universalizability showed that the overall weight of Hyo contents was higher, from the standpoint of weight in content. The plan for teaching-learning curriculum through Hyo education like affection and existence at home suggested in this research to settle these conflicts will be the correct educational plan to overcome these problem.
