본고는 <벽허담관제언록>의 완질본인 장서각본, 규장각본, 이화여자대학교본을 대비하여 각 이본의 특징을 살펴본 논문이다. 대비의 결과 이대본이 서사적 면과 서술적 면에서 가장 상세하고 등장인물을 현실적으로 그리고 있는 이본임을 볼 수 있었다. 이는 소설에 있어서 바로 현실적이고 구체적 서술을 선호하는 독자들을 향하였기 때문인 것으로 보인다. 규장각본은 경향적 면에서 이대본과 비슷하나 다만 여러 장면의 생략, 축약, 순서교차를 한 것이 특징적이다. 장서각본은 다른 이본보다 훨씬 속도감이 있게 진행되고 도덕성을 강조하고 있다. 이와 같은 차이는 작자가 개인적인 세계관으로 인해 일어난 변형일 수 있다. 또한 장서각본은 교육적인 측면을 강조한 이본으로 판단된다.

This paper is a research on the different versions (versions of Jangseogak, Kyujanggak, Ewha Womans University) of . As a result, the Ewha Womans University`s version is the most detailed and realistic character by narrative and descriptive. This version was considered for readers who prefer very realistic and detailed descriptions in the novel. The Kyujanggak`s version is similar with the Ewha Womans University`s version but the omission, abbreviation, cross sequence of several scenes are only it`s characteristic. The Jangseogak`s version is speedy than the others and emphasized morality. This differences arose caused modify by the author`s personal world view. In addition, Jangseogak version is considers version emphasized educational side.
