최근 한국학계 에 유행하는 라캉(J. Lacan, 1901-1981)의 정신분석 이론은 그 난해함과 학적인 깊이에도 불구하고 대중들에게 많은 영향을 끼치고 있다. 그의 이론이 많은 사람들의 호기심과 흥미를 유발 시키는 이유는 그의 이론의 독특성 때문이다. 그러나 라캉이 후기 구조주의의 시조이며, 포스트모더니즘의 중심에 있다는 점에서 그 의 학문이 분별없이 받아드려질 때 사람들은 자신도 모르게 유물론적 사상에 젖어들 수 있게 된다. 라캉 자신이 논리적으로 증명하고 있는 인간의 존재론적 불안과 인간 인식의 불완전성, 이로 인한 결여와 반복되는 욕망 그리고 그 욕망이 죽음을 향해야 그 끝을 볼 수 있다는 통찰은 사실 지극히 기독교적이라 할 수 있다. 라캉의 정신분석이론은 하나님 밖에서의 모든 담론은 허무주의로 귀결 될 수밖에 없다는 결론을 맺고 있다는 점에서 결국 우리 피조물은 하나님 안에서만 존재할 수 있다는 신학적 진리를 역설하고 있다. 그러나 그의 학문에서 이러한 점을 간파하기란 쉽지 않다. 본 글은 방탕하고 도착적인 삶을 살다가 기독교 성직자로 귀의한 프란츠 리스트(Franz. Liszt, 1811-1886)의 삶과 예술을 라캉의 정신분석을 통 해서 해석한다. 그리고 과연 예술이 포스트모더니즘 시대에 진리에 대안이 될 수 있는지를 검토하게 된다.

The theory of Lacan s Psychoanalysis which has been in fashion in Korean human studies recently, in spite of the untelligibility and scientific depth, has given a large effect in the general public and has provoked lots of curiosity and interest to many people because of his theory s uniqueness. But, in the point that Lacan is one of founder of post-stuructualism and is the center of postmodernism, people wonder in materialistic thought not to know by ones selves even when Lacan s theory is received injudiciously. The human s ontological anxiety Lacan showed logically and incompleteness of human cognitive faculty, deficiency by this and desire to be repeated and the insight that can meet the end when the desire turns death can extremely be christian in fact. In the point of making conclusion that all discourses outside God can not but end by nihilism, psychoanalysis theory of Lacan is enforcing theological truth that all creature can exist only in God. But, it s not easy to penetrate these viewpoints in his theory. This essay analyzes, through psychoanalysis of Lacan, the life of art of F. Liszt who converted Catholic priest after he had lived the life of sexual perversion and examines whether art can really become the alternative to truth in postmodernism age.
