베트남에서 한놈학 학자들과 한놈연구소는 그동안 한놈 서적을 수집하고, 보관하며, 연구하고 번역하는 등 많은 일을 하면서 한놈자료를 사회화하는 데 기여해 왔다. 베트남은 한국, 북한, 일본과 같은 국가들과 마찬가지로 오랜 교류 역사를 통해서 중국 한(漢) 문화의 영향을 받았으며 일정한 시기동안 한자(漢字)를 쓰기도 하였다. 한자를 바탕으로 베트남 사람들은 쯔놈(남字)을 창조하였다. 쯔놈의 가장 오래된 흔적은 11세기에 발견된 것이다. 이후 12세기부터 20세기 초까지, 쯔놈은 베트남 사람의 문화 생활 속에서 계속 사용되면서 발전했으며 그 과정에서 문학예술 창작 영역으로는 한자보다 더 번창한 적이 있다. 이렇게 수 천년 동안 베트남 사람은 한자와 쯔놈을 사용해 저서입설(著書立說)을 만들었고, 공문서·자료·책을 기록하였으며, 석비(石陣)·청동종(靑銅鐘)·목판(木版) 및 기타 재료 등에 글자를 새겨넣었다. 그러한 한자와 쯔놈으로 쓰여진 서적과 자료들은 오늘날 한놈(漢남) 유산이라고 불린다. 이 글에서는 한놈자료의 일부를 소개하였다. 현재 베트남 정부가 연구비를 지원하여 프랑스에 흩어진 한놈자료 목록을 조사하는 중이다. 이 조사가 완료되면, 이번에 제공하는 한놈문헌보다 더 풍부한 자료를 한국 한문학자들에게 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

In Vietnam, Han-Nom Research Institute (漢남硏究所) and its researchers have collected, preseved, researched and translated Han-Nom (漢남) materials. Vietnamese has maintained long-term relationship with China, just like other countries in East Asia such as Korea, North Korea and Japan, and has adopted Chinese culture and characters. However, Vietnamese had developed its unique way of writing, namely Chu Nom (字남), based on Chinese characters. The oldest Chu Nom ever found was those of 11th century from when Chu Nom had been used as vietnamese writing means From time to time it turned out to be more dominant than Chinese characters, especially in literary writing fields. For thousands of years, Vietnamese had produced many kinds of records in history, using Chinese Characters and Chu Nom altogether. We call this writing history as Han-Nom heritage. In this paper, I introduce some of Han-Nom materials. For the time being, Han-Nom research institute, sponsored by Vietnames government is conducting a project to invest and collect Han-Nom literature spread all over the world. I expect that this project outcome provide enormous opportunities to foreign scholars who are interested in the past of Vietnam.
