한국의 진보정당운동은 자본주의의 고도 발전과 시민사회의 활성화란 조건들 속에서 전개된 예들에 국한하더라도 어느덧 20여 년의 궤적을 되돌아 볼 수 있게 됐다. 나는 이 글에서 그 역사와 현실에 대해 `지체된 성장`이라고 평가하는 가운데 운동엘리트들 내부의 정치에 주목하여 볼 때 `연대의 결여`가 `지체된 성장`을 귀결시킨 중요한 하나의 요인이었다고 논술한다. 바꾸어 말하면 그 내부정치에서 `연대의 실현` 여부 및 정도가 추후 진보정당운동이 더 활성화되고 의미 있는 생성물들을 더 많이 만들어낼 필요 조건들 중 하나임을 주장하는 것이 이 글이다. 나는 2008년 초 민주노동당의 분열과 `새로운 진보정당운동`의 출범이란 시점에서 시계열상 거슬러 올라가는 방법을 택하여. 1991~92년 한국노동당창당준비위원회와 민중당이 조직연합을 성사시킨 시기까지, 진보정당 운동사의 주요 국면들을 고찰한다. 그리고 각 국면에서 연대의 결여란 실상을 확인함은 물론, 연대 성립의 조건들, 연대의 정치와 대극을 이루는 정파주의의 의미들을 제시하고, `연대의 결여=정파주의`가 불행하게도 특성 정파를 넘어선 진보정당운동 내부의 일반적 분화였다는 점을 논한다. 이 글은 연대의 정치를 일관되게, 연대가 성립할 수 있는 구체적 조건들에 유의하여 성찰한다. 그것은 기존 논평자들뿐만 아니라 진보정당운동 주체들이 스스로 표출하는 몇몇 관점들, 즉 연대를 무조건적 도덕률로 제시하는 시각(`분열은 공멸이다`), 연대를 가장한 권력장치(Realpolitik)의 논리 등을 비판하고 지양하려는 문제의식의 발로이다.

Twenty years have passed since `progressive parry movements` started off under conditions of the rapid capitalist development and the activation of civil society in the Rep. of Korea. My paper judges that they have achieved the stage of `delayed growing,` and discourses upon the fact that an important cause of it has been the situation of `want of solidarity` in internal politics of those movement elites. In other words my argument is that the sufficiency of their solidarity should be an necessary condition for `progressive parry movements` activating much more and performing somethings value in the future. My paper inquires into main phases of their histories, tracing back from the beginning of the year 2008 occurred the division of `Minju-nodong-dang`, to the time had been accomplished the formation of `Tonghap-minjung-dang` in the period of 1991-92. At the same time I establish the real state of `want of solidarity` in each phase of their histories, present specific conditions of solidarity and some principal meanings of factionalism on the opposite side of solidarity, and argue that the situation of `factionalism=want of solidarity` has been a generalized culture across progressive parry movement elites in the Rep. of Korea since the late 1987. My article is consistent in considering carefully concrete conditions of solidarity. This is a manifestation of the critical mind against a perspective regarding it as an unconditional moral code and the logic of Realpolitik disguising as the politics of solidarity, etc.
