이 글은 기독교인문학의 개념을 정립하고 기독교인문학과 철학과의 관계를 설정하려는데 목적이 있다. 이 글은 그 목적을 위해 다음과 같은 문제들을 논의한다. 첫째, 인문학의 역사적 전개과정과 최근 위기의 원인과 대안; 둘째, 통합적 기독교인문학의 가능성과 전망; 셋째, 기독교인문학과 철학의 관계이다. 역사적으로 기독교인문학은 르네상스의 `그리스도 철학`에 기원을 두고 있지만, 현대적 의미의 기독교인문학은 아직 정립되어 있지 않다. 우선 기독교인문학은 일반 인문학의 위기로부터 많은 것을 배울 수 있으며 이 위기를 기독교의 관점에서 대응함으로써 극복하고자 한다. 그러기 위해서 기독교인문학은 두 가지 방향에서 노력해야 한다. 한편으로는 기독교철학, 기독교문학, 기독교역사학, 기독교문화학 등의 분과학문을 더욱 발전시켜야 한다. 이들 분과학문은 기독교인문학에 구체적인 내용을 제공해 주기 때문이다. 다른 한편으로 기독교인문학은 하나의 통합적인 인문학의 관점과 방법을 제시해야 한다. 학문적 중심이 확고하게 정립된 인문학이 이 시대의 문제에 책임 있는 대답을 제공해 주기 때문이다. 일관된 성경적 세계관, 진리관, 가치관, 문화관, 역사관이 어우러진 인문학은 여기저기 흩어져 있는 기독교적 인식의 관점들과 지식을 묶어 하나의 학문으로서 엮어 줌으로써 우리 시대의 책임 있는 학문의 역할을 할 것이다. 구체적으로 기독교인문학이 어떤 방법론적 접근을 해야 할지는 열려있는 과제이다. 기독교세계관이나 인격적 지식론이나 포스트모더니즘을 비판적으로 수용한 기독교인문학의 모델도 가능하다.

The purpose of this article is to examine the concept of Christian humanities and also to establish the relationship of Christian humanities and philosophy. In this article, 3 issues will be discussed for that: (1) the historical development and recent crisis of humanities and the alternatives to this crisis, (2) the possibility and perspective of an integrated Christian humanities, (3) the relationship of Christian humanities and philosophy. The concept of Christian humanities rooted `Philosophia Christi` in the Renaissance historically, but did not establish in the modern sense. First of all Christian humanities could learn lots of things from the recent crisis of humanities and make an alternative idea to this crisis. It needs the efforts from two aspects. On the one hand it must develop each branch of learning like Christian philosophy, Christian literature, Christian history and Christian cultural studies. because these branches provide the concrete contents to the Christian humanities. On the other hand it must offer perspectives of an integrative Christian humanities. Methodologically good founded discipline could provide a responsible answer to the problems of the time. Christian humanities could integrate bits of Christian information so that establish a consistent Christian discipline in which world-view, moral value, concept of culture are integrated. Such Christian humanities could provide the new perspective to the contemporary problems and help to solve it. For this discipline there are some methodological perspectives and models: Christian world-view model, personal knowledge model and postmodern model etc.
