A suggestion of the strength analysis technique considering the interfacial bonding strength is very important for the design of parts and the estimation of fatigue behavior. In this paper three dimensional finite element analysis was performed during the elasto-plastic deformation of particulate reinforced metal matrix composites. Bonding strength, interface separation and matrix void growth between the matrix and reinforcements were predicted during deformation under tensile loading. The shape of the reinforcement was assumed to be a perfect sphere. The type of the reinforcement distribution was assumed as FCC array. The element birth and death method of the ANSYS program was used for estimating the interfacial bonding strength, void generation and propagation. The experimental data of the extruded SiCp/6061 Ai composites were compared with the calculated results.
