Water quality management is a great concern of water environment in Korea. The regulations to control the total pollution loadings were applied for several years ago in order to manage the water environment. The pollution loadings and pollution sources were investigated for the Han River Basin. Pollution sources are mainly composed of municipal wastewater, livestocks, farm lands and industrial wastewater. The water quality of the main stream of Han River were 1.57 mg/L for BOD, 2.61 mg/L for T-N and 0.05 mg/L for T-P. The pollution loading of effluent for BOD, T-N and T-P were 250,195 kg/day, 159,320 kg/day and 14,494 kg/day, repectively.
