조선왕조시대의 고농서에 나타난 농업 및 생활기상 관련의 예측기술을 일별하고 공통적으로 제시된 기술들을 찾아 현대 기상학적 타당성을 평가하였다. 일별된 기술들은 ① 천둥소리 듣고 날씨읽기 ② 저기압 비 소식을 알리는 소리들 ③ 가루눈과 함박눈의 기상적 차이 ④ 눈으로 보리작황 판단 ⑤ 높새바람의 피해예상 ⑥ 마파람과 된바람 ⑦ 산바람과 골짜기 바람 ⑧ 용보고 날씨 읽기 ⑨ 무더위로 바람읽기 ⑩ 구름 보고 날씨 읽기 ⑪ 번개 보고 날씨 읽기 ⑫ 무지개 보고 날씨 읽기 ⑬ 해와 달무리 보고 비·바람끼 읽기 ⑭ 별빛 보고 비·바람끼 읽기 ⑮ 아침·저녁노을 보고 날씨 읽기 (16) 물고기 보고 날씨 가늠하기 (17) 먼 산 보고 날씨 가늠하기 등이다. 발굴된 기술들은 천둥과 비, 동물의 수증기막과 교감신경, 상층대기온도와 눈, 용오름현상, 바람과 태양열, 고적운·적란운, 권층운과 날씨 등의 이해에 따라 현대과학의 합리적 해석, 실용적 활용, 응용 등이 가능하다.
The purpose of this study is to suggest the value of the weather prediction technology involved in old references of Chosun dynasty, and to develop application plans. And also we suggested 17 application plans of the traditional technologies after analyzing. ① The weather prediction by thunder ② The sounds of rain coming prediction by low pressure ③ A differences between powdery snow and large flake snow ④ A forecasting of barley crop report by snow ⑤ A forecasting of damage by northeasterly wind ⑥ A south wind and strong wind ⑦ A mountain wind and valley wind ⑧ The weather prediction by dragon ⑨ The wind prediction by hot weather ⑩ The weather prediction by cloud ⑪ The weather prediction by lightning ⑫ The weather prediction by rainbow ⑬ The weather prediction by sun and halo ⑭ The weather prediction by starlight ⑮ The weather prediction by glow (16) The weather prediction by fish (17) The weather prediction by mountain. These were the technologies possible for rationalized and the practical applications by understanding thunder and the rain, the sympathetic nerve of animal, temperature and snow, wind and solar heat, the clouds and so forth.
