본 연구에서는 학습자 특성 중 학습자 성격 유형별(외향성 집단, 내향성 집단, 혼합 집단)로 구성된 소집단이 웹 기반 토론학습에 참여할 경우 학습자 성격 유형별 집단구성에 따라 토론 메시지 유형과 토론 메시지 내용을 분석한 결과 어떠한 차이가 나타나는지 살펴보고, 학습자 성격 유형별 집단 구성에 따른 토론만족도의 차이를 분석하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 결과를 토대로 결론은 다음과 같이 제시할 수 있다. 첫째, 온라인 토론 참여 과정에서 학습자 특성 가운데 학습자 성격 유형에 따른 집단 구성 방법은 주메시지보다 반응메시지가 더 많이 요구되는 토론 주제에 적합하다. 둘째, 온라인 토론 참여 과정에서 필요한 토론 메시지 내용의 차원(사회적, 상호작용적, 인지적, 메타인지적)에 따라 학습자 성격 유형을 달리하여 토론 집단을 구성해야 한다. 셋째, 학습자 성격 유형에 따라 집단 구성 방법이 온라인 토론 참여 과정에서 토론만족도에 영향을 미치기 때문에, 토론 집단 구성할 경우, 학습자 성격 유형을 신중히 고려할 필요성이 있다.

This study set out to analyze the types and contents of discussion messages according to the grouping methods based on the types of learners` personality when small groups participated in web-based discussion study which were formed according to the types of learners` personality(extravert, introvert, and combinational group), which were part of the learner characteristics. It also aimed to examine the differences in their satisfaction with discussion according to the grouping methods based on the types of learners` personality. Based on the results, the following conclusions were drawn; first, the grouping methods according to the types of learners` personality among the learner characteristics were proper for the subjects that would require more response messages than main ones in the process of participating in online discussions. Secondly, it`s critical to form discussion groups based on the types of learners` personality according to the dimensions(social, interactive, cognitive, and meta-cognitive dimension) of the contents of discussion messages required for the process of participating in online discussion. And finally, given that the grouping methods according to the types of learners` personality affected their satisfaction with discussions in the process of participating in online discussions, it`s required to carefully take into account the personality types when forming discussion groups.
