석회화 담낭은 비교적 드문 질환으로 아직 정확히 병인이 밝혀지지 않았다. 최근 다소 논란이 있으나 전암성 병변으로 분류되며 담낭암의 경우 광범위한 전이가 되기 전까지 무증상인 경우가 많고 예후가 좋지 않기 때문에 예방적인 담낭 절제술이 최선의 치료로 추천되고 있다. 저자들은 무증상의 석회화 담낭을 단순 복부 촬영과 복부 CT를 통해 진단하였고, 복강경하 담낭 절제술로 치료하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하고자 한다.

Porcelain gallbladder is characterized by extensive deposition of calcium in the wall of the gallbladder. It is commonly associated with gallbladder cancer, but it has been rarely reported in Korea. Porcelain gallbladder is regarded as a precancerous lesion and prophylactic cholecystectomy is the treatment of choice. We report here a case of a patient with porcelain gallbladder. This case showed the typical radiologic and pathologic findings of this disease. The patient was treated by laparoscopic cholecystectomy. (Korean J Med 72:222-225, 2007)
