본 연구는 두뇌를 복합적으로 활용하는 `마인드 스케이프(Mind Scape)` 학습원리를 적용하여 창의적인 드로잉 지도방안을 모색하는 것에 목적이 있다. `마인드 스케이프(Mind Scape)`는 아직 국내에 많이 알려지지 않은 학습원리로서 다소 생소한 학습원리이다. 그러나 마인드 스케이프는 교육계에 지금도 영향력을 끼치고 있는 마인드 맵의 보다 발전된 형태이다. 이를 우리말로 해석하자면 ‘마음 속의 풍경’ 정도로 해석할 수 있다. 철저하게 규칙을 지키면서 만들어야 하는 마인드 맵과 달리 자신의 생각을 자유롭게 그림을 그리듯 정리하는 기법으로서 창의적인 드로잉 지도에 큰 시사점을 지닌다. 마인드 스케이프 드로잉의 특징은 개념적 사고와 시지각의 혼합된 형태라는 것이다. 교사는 이 개념적 사고와 시지각 능력이 상호 작용하여 학생이 자신의 생각과 느낌, 의도하는 바를 효과적으로 나타낼 수 있도록 다양한 자료와 발문을 통해 마인드 스케이프 수업을 유도해야 한다. 이에 따라 감상, 표현, 미적 체험의 순으로 교육과정과는 다른 영역의 변화를 두어 프로그램을 설계하였다. 표현에서는 다시 심상 표현과 주제 표현으로 나누었으며 프로그램의 궁극적인 목표인 ‘창의적으로 자신만의 그림 그리기’, ‘그림을 통해 스스로 공부하기’에 도달하고자 하였다.

Mind scape feature is to be a form which is mixed with conceptual thought and visual thinking. The teacher must induce a study using various data and questions in order that students show their thought, impression and intention effectively with interaction between conceptual thought and visual thinking. To follow it, the curriculum is planned of appreciation, expression and art experience is different from curriculum. In the expression, it shares the image expression and subject expression, it programed to reach the ultimate goal of this program that `the picture only of oneself it drew originality` and, `the picture it led and it studies oneself`.
