The labour process of the Hyundai Motor can be described as follows; a break from extreme Taylorist division of labour, but not necessarily from Fordism. The Fordist mass production continues to be implemented or modified in distinctive ways in a unique Korean economic environment. In other words, new forms of the labour process are invariably modifications of pre-existing ones, adopted to suit local contexts. If certain conditions or contexts are contradictory to a new form of production method, it is unlikely to survive.
