본고는 사회의 다변화 경향, 정보화, 범세계화 추세 등에 기인한 현대의 퓨전 현상이 화예조형 분야에서 어떻게 나타나고 있는지에 대해 고찰해 보고자 한다. 특히 현대 화예조형은 그 표현 영역을 확대해 나가기 위해 다양한 재료와 기법을 추구하며 타 장르와의 퓨전을 시도하고 있다. 이에 본 연구자는 먼저 퓨전 문화에 관한 개념 및 속성 등의 이론적 배경을 고찰하고 현대 화예조형과 미술, 문학, 테크놀로지의 장르적 퓨전을 통한 국내외 전시작품을 중심으로 분석하고자 한다.

Fusion has the meaning of the crossing of different kinds that is called as the third culture by mixing more than two cultures as the eclectic solution for different kinds in present culture. Recent floral art & design is expressed as more enlarged range than traditional flower arrangement due to the effect of fusion trend. Escape genre and tried combination with several genres (such as fine art, installation art, sculpture, literature, technology and so on) are the good example. Floral art & design has broadened its field of expression as much as other genres of fine art with varied and creative trials using newly developed techniques and materials. Breaking from conventional and superficial method that has hindered a creative techniques and materials. Breaking from conventional, it gets free from its intrinsic limits of expression. Fusion trend as culture of floral art and design can cause the problem through adopting advanced country-base culture and foreign image and excluding of unconditionally including other cultures but when establishment and preservation of original tradition, fairness and dignity are carried with fusion culture that many thins are fused and diluted, it will be helpful for search and unfolding for instinct new culture.
