본 연구는 화예디자인 영역에서 색이 갖는 중요성에 주목하여 색사용에 있어 과학적 근거를 제시하고자 하는 목적에서 출발하였다. 연구는 크게 화예디자인에서의 혼색과 배색으로 구성되어 있다. 혼색의 근거는 병치가법혼색에서 찾을 수 있었으며, 그 과정에서 인상파의 색사용이 화예디자인의 색사용과 상당히 유사함을 발견할 수 있었다. 배색 특수성은 녹색과의 배색효과를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 연구결과, 녹색, 갈색, 흰색, 노랑으로 구성된 기본유형에 주황, 분홍, 빨강, 보라의 색이 추가될 때마다 상이한 이미지 연상을 일으킨다는 점을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 연구결과는 화예디자인 작품 제작시 보다 치밀한 색채계획이 요구됨을 시사한다.

This Study aims to suggest a scientific basis of using colors in the part of Floral Art & Design. It is consist of two part. One of them is color mixture, which is based on juxtaposed additive mixture of color. In the course of investigation, I found that there are similarities between the color using of Floral Art & Design and that of Impressionism. The other one is color matching. after all, I found that there are different color images which is associated with adding colors(orange, pink, red, purple) to basic type(which is composed of green, brown, white and yellow). These results show up there should be more elaborated color scheme in a work of Floral Art & Design.
