We, Daejeon St. Marys Hospital transplantation team, Daejeon, Korea, performed 100 cases of kidney transplantation from 1988 to the end of 1995. The results of clinicai analysis of the cases were as follows: 1) The original renal disease of the cases were 51 case of chronic glomerulonephritis, 8 cases of hypertensive nephrosclerosis and 5 cases of diabetic nephropathy. 2) The donors were 68 males and 32 females. The recipient donor relationships were 20 cases of parent to offspring, 5 cases of offspring to parents, 15 cases of between siblings and 12 cases of between spouse. 3) At the end of Feb. 1996, 14 graft were lossed. (5 year graft survival rate was 86%)and there were 3 cases of recipient death (5 year patient survival rate 97%). By acute rejection, two graft were lost and seven graft were lost by chronic rejection. 4) 76 cases of posttransplant hypertension, 33 cases of hyperlipidemia, 11 Cases of posttransplant diabetes were detected and there were 5 cases of pneumonia, 8 cases of urinary tract infection and 11 herpetic infection. Two cases of malignancy were also detected. 5) The factor analysis for graft survival showed HLA mismatching counts, donor sex, donor age had significant influences.
