The separation characteristics of palladium [Pd(II)] from a simulated radwaste 1solution by precipitation method using ascorbic acid was investigated. When the nitric acid concentration at 1(Pd) and 3(Pd, Rh, Ru) components systems was below 2.0 M, Pd(II) over 99.9% was selectively precipitated at ascorbic acid concentration above 0.03M. However, Ag was co-precipitated with Pd(II) at 7 (Pd, Rh, Ru, Mo, Ba, Fe, Ag) components systems including Ag ion. The precipitation yield of Pd(II) by ascorbic acid decreased with the increase of the nitric acid concentration.
