Australia 경찰은 우리의 경찰조직과는 달리 주단위의 자치제 경찰로 운영되기 때문에 각 주는 서로 독립된 개체로서 다양한 조직으로 구성, 운영되고 있다. Queensland 주 경찰은 시민의 생명과 재산보호, 평화와 완전보장, 범죄의 예방, 법을 지지하는 직무를 수행하고 있다. Queensland 주 경찰의 범죄예방활동은 기본적 순찰 업무 외에 방범 파출소(police beat)아 상가지역 파출소(police beat shopfront)를 운영하고 있으며, 이는 지역사회 경찰활동의 실천으로 볼 수 있다. 1999년부터 채택해오고 있는 적극적, 문제 지향적 경찰활동은 Queensland 경찰의 핵심활동 업무로서 Queensland 주 경찰의 핵심전략의 기본이면서 중요한 것으로 인식되고 있다. 구체적 Program 으로서는 학교를 기반으로 하는 경찰활동( School based policing), 안전한 집(Safety House) Program, 이웃감시 활동(Neighbourhood Watch), 환경 설계를 통한 범지 예방(CPTED), 위험 건물 프로젝트(TARP), 경찰활동 지원과 프로그램(VIPs) 등을 들 수 있다. 문화와 제도가 다른 Australia경찰의 범죄예방활동이 한국경찰의 범죄예방활동에 그대로 적용 될 수 없을 것이지만, Queensland주 경찰의 범죄예방활동을 고찰해봄으로써 한국 경찰의 범죄예방활동의 나아갈 방향을 제시해 볼 수 있다.

The purpose of this study is consideration of various crime prevention activity and crime prevention strategy of Queensland Police Sevice which is successfully adopted and conducting problem-oriented Policing in Australia. Futhermore, it has purpose of considering a subject and a vision of Korean police. This study is consisted of introduction at the chapter I , police mission and organization at the at the chapter Ⅱ, crime occurance conclussion and analysis at the chapter Ⅲ, crime prevention strategy of Australian police and activity at the chapter Ⅳ, finally, conclusion at the chapter V. It cannot cannot be directiy applyed Australian POP in to Korean police because of difference of system and culture. However the philosophy of Korean police activity should be approved from incident-oriented to problem orleted for vision of Korean police.
