The 135 volume Chin History, completed in November 1344, contains a lot of accounts related to the Koryo dynasty, because for some 120 years since the early 12th century the peninsular kingdom had maintained close political relations with the Chin Empire (1115 1234), founded by the Jurchen and ruled northern China. Although they are mostly fragmentary, some of these Koryo articles complement insufficient parts of the Koryo chronology. Except for contents of The Koryo Records, accounts related to Koryo found in The Chin History amounted to 584. Among them, articles in The Tables were reedited from other parts of the official history records of the Chin Empire, and therefore 334 articles were included in it. The most remarkable in these accounts is The Tables of Diplomatic Relations, which not only supplement the briefly mentioned contents of the records on emperors but also details diplomatic relations between the Chin Empire and the Koryo kingdom, thus constituting the most outstanding article together with The Records of Koryo. In addition, The Chin History did not distinguish the Koguryo kingdom from the Koryo kingdom and differed much from Koryo`s records in personal names.
