This paper estimates South Koreans` willingness to pay (WTP) for food aid to North Korea using the dichotomous choice contingent valuation method. The results show that the mean WTP ranges 42,212 to 48,134 won depending on model specifications. Using the total number of households in Korea and the minimum WTP of 42,212 won, the total WTP of 604.1 billion won is calculated. The Results also indicate that the rice aid program to North Korea is feasible from the perspective of political support from South Korean people.
