The research on physical education methodology these days is rather centered on natural sciences such as sports physiology, nutritional science, and training methodology, But this study is focused on the sports methodology of ancient Greece when today`s natural science theories were never known, The highlight here is the philosophy of Aristotle, one of the ancient Olympic winners, In particular, in the situations of the present age when sports gain much popularity among the masses, the role of sports leaders is more important than ever, Therefore, the research on physical education methodology will hopefully deepen and widen the thoughts of sports leaders, Among Aristotle`s philosophy of sports methodology, the following two ideas stand out, First, the physical education methods of the moderation, As a Greek word ??(arete) implies virtue, sports should mean the Lest or the most proper disposition, That is, deficiency or excess ought to be both avoided, Between the two extremes, the optimal exercise method should be found to fit each person`s unique physical conditions, age, and various surroundings. Second, the parameter and standard for physical education methodology should be endless practice. Ceaseless and continuous repetition is necessary for the perfect mastery of a skill, Like the sculpture of stones or jewels, sports skills need to be practiced until one feels at home, In short, practice makes perfect, This is what every sports leader should emphasize to every student. On the other hand, as Aristotle pointed out, we should be well aware that excess training or diet therapy, disregarding the middle-of-the-road methodology, will only cause harm to the body, Also, we can notice the critical shortcomings of modern elite sports, excessively generalizing the practice-only methodology, to enslave athletes to victory or medals and finally shorten their career.
