The author carried out an survey of the actual condition of university athletes` physical punishment by questionnaire method for the purpose of providing materials for understanding and preventing the punishment In Korea university sport teams. Using a stratified cluster random sampling, 300 university athletes from 32 teams were selected as sample population, Finally, 188 university athletes were analysed as subjects for collecting data, Frequence and percentage by Items were calculated and multiple regression analysis by enter method, analysis of variance using Duncan post-hoc test, and Chi square test were used to solve problems of the study, The conclusions of the study were as follows: 1. The 95.7% of university athletes had the experience of punishment(by the Index of Straus` Conflict Resolution Technique Scales) without any reasonable methods such as punishment tools, frequencies, strength...etc, The university athletes, however, were still respect their coaches. 2. There were significant differences In the psychological and psychosomatic disorders by degree of athletes` physical punishment, The psychosomatic and psychological behavioral manifestations were markedly serious In the seriously punished group. 3. The university athletes strongly disagreed with the necessity of punishment and thought that there were no positive effects of the punishment. With respect to the university athletes` satisfaction, men had higher satisfaction than women; those with older and longer athletes` career had higher satisfaction than others.
