As modern society becomes highly industrialized, pluralized and specialized, man urges his way to success through ceaseless challenges for Information and competition, During the course, the discrepancies between personal desire and environment lead one to stress, one of the necessary evils in modern society, and excessive stress will cause serious psychological or physical damage, whose degree is diverse among individuals, When the dancers suffer from emotional anxiety or struggle due to stress, though not in the state of physical illness or injury, they would surely fall in exerting every effort, and such failure will give them a crucial harm in their lives as dancers, On the contrary, however, having dancers sustain certain amount of stress through proper degree of reaction or awakening might be an important factor to help the dancers develop their dance techniques and adapt themselves as successful dancers, Therefore, in order to fulfill such alms of study, this paper investigated the courses and causes of stress, and the physical and psychological influence of it on individual dancers. And the ways to cope with the stress and their psychological aspects have been discussed, For the dancers, who express their works through the movements of their bodies, to exert the best performing ability, they have to do their best to sustain their psychological condition in an optimum state. Dance trainers and leaders and dance psychologists as well should find out the causes of diverse stresses, and provide effective programs to cope with them, creating some buffering methods against stresses for the dancers.
