In the first part I will discuss mainly three types of philosophical monisms and their notions of unity. The second part focuses on the idealistic monism of Hegel`s philosophy of the Absolute Spirit. The third part turns to a modern type of pluralism in Nietzsche`s philosophy, which marks also the beginning of post-modern pluralisms.
