The seasonal Occurrence of peach pyralid moth, Dichocrocis punctiferalis Guenee adult, in four main provinces chestnut growing areas were examinated by using light traps on chestnut trees in Gongju of Chungnam, Suncheon of Cheonnam, Jinju and Sancheong of Kyungnam in Korea from 1996 to 1997. Under province condition, they occurred 2 - 3 generations a year. The peak of seasonal occurrence showed 5 times in Jinju chestnut orchards by light trap. But overall data suggest two generations a year in Gongju and Suncheon, and three generations a year in Jinju and Sancheong. The peak of seasonal occurrence of D. punctiferalis adults in the 2nd generation cause a problem at chestnut orchards showed the early of August in Gongju, the middle of August in Jinju and Suncheon, the late of August in Sancheong. Evaluations were conducted by pheromone traps baited with rubber septa impregnated with 2mg of synthetic [ (E)-10-hexadecenal : (Z)-lO-hexadecena1=75 : 25 1 between June and September 1997 on a chestnut tree stand in Micheon-myun, Jinju, Korea. The seasonal pattern in the number of adult caught in the sex pheromone trap was similar to that of the light trap, But, collected effect of peach pyralid moth was the sex pheromone trap in the use of 10 traps per one hector better than the light trap in the use of 1 trap per one hector.
